University at Albany, School of Public Health

Hello!  My name is Elisa and I am a Research Support Specialist here at Upstate KIDS.  We may have spoken by phone, as I started with the Upstate KIDS Research Study in 2009.  I completed my Master’s in Community Health at the University of New Mexico, and have worked in Tobacco Prevention, Community Health Promotion Programs, in addition to the Upstate KIDS project.

As a mother of two, I know how busy life can be and I so appreciate your taking time to participate in Upstate KIDS.  Your time and effort really does make a difference. Thank you!

Hi guys! My name is Stephanie Ramirez and I am a clinical research assistant at Upstate KIDS! I am a graduate student at the School of Public Health at the University at Albany, as well as pharmacist technician. In the future, I would love to work with vulnerable populations such as the homeless, prison inmates and immigrants, in order to improve their health and well-being. I have three siblings and an awesome dog named Willy who is 9 years old! I love to learn about everything, especially medieval history. I look forward to meeting you all J

Maria Galluzzo
Maria Galluzzo

Hi everyone! My name is Maria Galluzzo and I am a Senior Research Support Specialist for Upstate KIDS. I recently graduated from the School of Public Health at the University at Albany with a Master’s in Public Health. I’ve loved all things science since I was young. I’m super friendly and caring so no need to be nervous, just ask my cat Diana (she’s named after a superhero). I’m really excited to meet you all!

Michelle Mosca
Michelle Mosca

My name is Michelle Mosca, and I’m a Senior Research Support Specialist with Upstate KIDS. I have a degree in psychology and have been involved with public health research for nine years (3 with Upstate KIDS). As a busy mom of two teenage boys, I am keenly aware of the logistical demands of parenthood, and am so thankful for the time and energy Upstate KIDs families have devoted to this study! When I’m not at Upstate KIDS, I am busy running a nonprofit organization, volunteering in the community, and – best of all - spending time with family. I look forward to talking with you!

Joy Lowe

Hi, ya’ll!  My name is Joy Lowe and I am a Senior Research Support Specialist for Upstate Kids.  I graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in Forensic Biology.  I also have a degree in Medical Laboratory Science and I worked as a lab tech in the United States Air Force for about ten years.  I was born and raised in Texas and I still have a bit of an accent but I now call New York home.  I love science and my passion is DNA because it is the backbone of who we are and it makes each of us unique to others…unless you are an identical twin and then your DNA is the exact same as your sibling… cool huh?? I am really excited to meet each of you.

Regina Cauley
